About Us
Project Nicaragua at Ohio State University
In 2008 the third and newest chapter of Project Nicaragua was established at Ohio State University (OSU) under the guidance of Senior Director Stanley Park, who was then beginning his first year at the OSU College of Medicine. Project Nicaragua at OSU emphasizes initiatives for increasing access to health care, promoting sustainable economic empowerment, expanding educational opportunities, and researching nutrition and food security. Since its establishment, the chapter has sent two teams to Nicaragua. Project Nicaragua at Ohio State University is currently developing several projects, including the Rancho Grande Initiative and collaboration with the only public ophthalmology hospital in Nicaragua, CENAO.
