UCSD Chapter Funding

Donald A. Strauss Public Service Foundation

We were awarded a $10,000 grant by the Strauss Foundation for our work with the Project. This generous grant has provided valuable seed funding for our chapter, and has helped purchase medical equipment for donation to the National Neurosurgery Service of Nicaragua and equipment for the mobile Project Nicaragua laboratory for our prevalence studies with AMOS Health and Hope (AMOS). We would like to thank the late Donald A. Strauss and the kind donors at the Strauss foundation for their contribution to the Project and the people of Nicaragua.

Concession Stand Fundraising

The members of the UCSD chapter of Project Nicaragua work hard all year long manning concessions stands at PetCO Park for the San Diego Padres during baseball season and at Qualcomm Stadium for the San Diego Chargers during football season. These grueling fundraisers are typically all day events, and allow chapter members the opportunity to contribute to the Project. We make a percentage commission of the stand’s total revenue, and have raised over $7,000 in the past year.
